Is there a real need for your services?

Believe it or not, this is a £3bn industry! If you take an average of the number of flat roofs on domestic, commercial and industrial properties (E.g. Some have four, others have none), every single property would have a flat roof in one form or another - that's at least 24 million properties to repair!

The service that we are supplying is in high demand as I've just mentioned. The problem is finding a good quality, reliable flat roofing company to do the work - that's where you come in!

Will I get enough customers?

As we've already said, latest estimates are that at least £3bn is spent each year on repairing and replacing flat roofs. The changes in British Weather help us to earn our living!

We've been in the business for many years and have spent the last 10 years perfecting our system, and we know there are plenty of customers for each and every one of our Franchisees. Your exclusive area has been designed to ensure that.

Our website together with our proven local marketing launch will fill your order book rapidly.

What's the competition like?

There are very few specialist flat roofing companies out there. Of those out there we don't see much! Most roofing companies and builders are looking for quick and easy large jobs throughout the summer. Even the specialist roofing companies, as soon as there is something which they consider to be a little complicated, will generally turn it down...

Due to very nature of our product, problem roofs are an area that you will shine.

As for professional, uniformed, reliable flat roofers with guaranteed service - frankly we see NO CREDIBLE COMPETITION.

What type of person is perfect for this business?

We are very selective about the people we take on board. Why? Because our success is directly related to your success. Therefore we can't afford to accept just anyone.

We know that the ability to earn between £30,000 and £50,000 is enough to attract anyone, that's why we do have a stringent policy on recruitment. For starters you must have the following qualities, or we won't even consider you (please also see the list in the section titled, 'Who Is This Perfect For? A Typical Franchisee, And Franchisee Profile'…

  • Are physically fit
  • Do not have a fear of heights
  • Enjoy working with their hands
  • Are self-motivated
  • Are organised
  • Are able to communicate easily with others
  • Enjoy working outdoors
  • Have experience of managing a team (desirable, not essential)
  • Can manage a project successfully from start to finish
  • Know the true value of good customer service
  • Ideally have some DIY or building knowledge (desirable, not essential)
  •

    And most importantly:

  • Have the drive, desire, and ambition to create a substantial business for themselves!
  •

    Can I work from home?

Due to the fact that customers won't be coming to your premises, you don't need an expensive office. To start with you can usually use your garage or a small garden shed - we'll discuss you know your options when we meet.

However, should you choose to expand your one van operation, you may need parking for the Roof-Master vans and a larger storage area for additional supplies for those unexpected and indeed larger commercial jobs. Don't worry though; we'll go through all your options during the training course.

Do I need a DIY or building background to be in the flat roofing business?

No, basic DIY skills will be sufficient - we'll teach you everything else you need to know. In fact, everything you need to know about operating your business will be provided through our extensive training programme and ongoing support. However if you do have experience, clearly it is an advantage in the early days.

Surely repairing a flat roof is complicated, isn't it?

As we've just mentioned, basic DIY skills will be sufficient to start with - we'll teach you everything else you need to know during your franchisee course which is also followed up with on-the-job training.

If you can imagine painting your kitchen floor - that's exactly what it is like. In fact it's child's play. Using our simple 1-2-3 system, you'll be up and running in no time - in fact we suspect you'll be asking us not to help you after a couple of weeks!

Of course, when any new situations arise and you feel you need our help, then you can take a picture of the site, email it to us and we'll be only too happy to help you quote it, or even come to help you on site if necessary. Once you've done it once, you should be able to do it again...

Do I bill my customers and maintain any accounts receivables?

Absolutely not. You get paid immediately on completion of the work. However, when you start working with the bigger commercial clients, you may want to agree some sort of credit. We'll help you with this as well, so there's no need to worry.

Will I need to recruit labourers or additional roofers and can you help me?

In the early days, the majority of the time you will be self sufficient, however there may be occasions when you'll need a labourer to help you do the job quicker! And when you decide you want to expand your one van operation, you'll need to employ more roofers.

We'll assist you here as we recognise that this area is fundamental to the success of the Franchise. We have extensive experience in recruiting the right people to carry out this service. We often get enquiries on the roof-master website, and we will tell you exactly what to do locally.

    Can I really earn £30,000 - £50,000 a year, going up to over £100,000?

Yes you can. As you'll know by now, if you've read the rest of this site, it is estimated that every year at least £3bn is spent on repairing and replacing flat roofs!

That means the market opportunity is so big, and is so under-served, that with our systems you can easily earn this money. But don't for one minute think that it's a 'walk in the park'. You still have to earn your money! You do have to put the effort in, but because the demand for our service is so high you can really earn serious money. <

What support structure do you have in place?

We believe that the support structure of any Franchise organisation is one of the most important aspects of running a successful Franchise. You have to know that you'll never be left alone 'to get on with it'. Of course our training is so detailed you won't need constant supervision, but you will need help from time to time. That's why we have a structure in place that ensures your success…

You'll get weekly phone calls and regular visits during your first few months of trading. Our support also includes a monthly conference call, an intranet website and access to marketing and sales experts. The thought that has gone into the website is staggering. Through this you can access the Roof-Master knowledge base, discuss issues with all other franchisees, and get all marketing materials and systems that help you every step of the way.

In addition, as a Franchisee, you will have a 'Franchise Team' allocated to you to ensure your success. The team will provide on going support with regards to both technical, and business management issues.

We guarantee you'll never feel alone . You'll never have to worry about anything. You'll be comforted in the knowledge that we place huge value on supporting you and all our other Franchisees.
